Mandate
The National Fisheries Development Center shall conduct development studies on various aquaculture species for breeding, propagation, and farming, including provision for training and advisory services. As such, it shall conduct development studies for milkfish, rabbitfish, seabass, seacucumber, saline tilapia, oyster, mussel, and freshwater prawn. It shall also provide training and advisory services
Function
Undertake research and development services to the fishery industry
Establish, maintain, and conduct research projects and operate experimental pilot demonstration facilities
Conduct training and provide advisory services to government and private fishery institutions / agencies and other stakeholders in the transfer of technology
Provide technical support in implementing the BFAR National Programs on food security and social reform agenda
Coordinate with concerned national and international agencies on fishery research and development programs
Facilitate and accelerate technology transfer and information dissemination
